Tomas Jørgensen, you have just started as Sales Director Scandinavia at the VAK Group. What kind of work has he done prior to this role?
My previous role was Managing Director for Schmitz Cargobull in Sweden. I was in that position from Feb 2019 to May 2026.
How would you describe yourself as an employee and as a sales leader? What would you say are your greatest strengths?
Positive, curious and involving with strong focus on optimizing internal work procedures and customer support in order to increase value for both the customer and the internal well-being.
My greatest strength I would say, is that I consider myself as a “people’s person” -> I am interested in the person in front of me.
What are your most important responsibilities as Sales Director Scandinavia?
First, of course maintain and develop sales in our new “home markets” Sweden and Norway – together with both the local and headquarters team. Second, support the continued positive development of our service net and spare parts supplies.
How do you see the VAK Group’s opportunities for increasing sales in the Swedish and Norwegian markets?
Medium/long term I see great possibilities; VAK Group have a product portfolio that matches the market requirements in Sweden and Norway perfectly!
What will be required to achieve the growth targets in the Scandinavian markets?
A clear go-to-market strategy, customer segmentation and with that identify potential and of course a strong sales team supported by headquarters.
In your opinion, what are the greatest strengths of VAK’s products and service offerings?
I refer to our new slogan: “Loaded with Expertise”. VAK Group has a big team with many years of expertise in designing and producing long-lasting high-quality products that optimize and ease our customers work procedures. VAK Oy has a long history of offering service, and that journey have also started in Sweden and Norway with continued focus.
How do you like to relax in your free time?
Nearly all my free time is spent together with my wife and kids. My family is my “hobby”.
